The CREEDS
Six areas of life to consider for recovery, growth, and well-being.
-
Personal connections provide support and stability. As you look to stretch and grow, connecting with like minded people who are on a similar path will be important. Positive relationships with others who have had setbacks like yours can be helpful also.
-
Regular reflection forces us to become present. It gives us the opportunity to assess our thoughts and actions. We learn about where we were and where we are, so that we can make better decisions about where we are going.
-
Expressing yourself takes courage, but the result is freedom. This is your time to create your art, in whatever form it takes. The sole purpose is your own satisfaction. With no right and wrong, you can be free to fail. Let you shine.
-
Exercise is the feel-good drug. It includes working out, but mostly it’s about purposeful movement. Build resilience. Prepare for old age. Give yourself a chance to live a bigger life.
-
Everything you put in your body is your diet, including liquids and drugs. The only diet that matters is the one that works for your goals. Consider whether or not your diet is making you feel better later.
-
Sleep is the foundation of growth. It is the most underrated step toward wellness. You need both the right quantity and the right quality of sleep for your body and brain to rest and repair, process and prepare.
